Health Tai Chi and Constipation problems.

Tuesday 30 January 2007 @ 10:19 pm

It is known that Tai Chi has some medical benefits, and many experts and Tai Chi practitioners tend to agree. True, there had been no formal research or study regarding the matter but there had been countless of stories and claims that Tai Chi really did something to their lives. And one can never dispute and disregard all these claims (some by distinguished individuals) and stories as hypes without checking first hand if the claims are real or voodoo fitting in a Frankenstein movie.

Most Chinese Tai Chi masters, though old, have really remarkable health. Maybe the careful Spartan lifestyles that abhor body damaging activities and a selective diet attributed much to their health. Or maybe is really Tai Chi.

Adult Massage

Monday 29 January 2007 @ 9:25 pm

Adult massage is a term that may sound literal, but sensual in a deeper sense.  Literally, adult massage is a massage performed on adults.  It uses techniques of kneading and pressing soft tissues in the body to promote good health and well being.  But, the concept becomes sensual when you try to associate it with sensual massage that most couples apply for building strong relationships.  Well, whatever associations you may have in your mind for “adult massage” one main thing remains true – adult massage, be it sensual or not, can be a great tool for building strong relationship and better health.

Adult massage, just like the other forms of massage, can be considered as one of the oldest and simplest existing forms of therapy.  In fact, numerous reports have revealed that it was applied for relaxation and health purposes since time immemorial when the ancient people applied strokes on the body to relieve pain caused by everyday stress.   Although there is no particular evidence to suggest the real origin of adult massage, many researches have noted that it was once applied in ancient China, Egypt, Rome and Greece, and has been passed by generation to generations.

Natural vs. Artificial Detox

Tuesday 23 January 2007 @ 2:13 am

Natural vs. Artificial Detox

Detox is short for detoxification i.e. the process of removing toxic substances from the body. More specifically, detoxification refers to a number of different approaches by which the body is cleansed of harmful substances. These include treatments for drug addiction and alcoholism, adopting certain diet plans that are thought to be innocuous to the body in general, alternate treatment methods (herbal, electromagnetic, acupuncture etc.), and other processes that focus on making the toxic substances less toxic to preclude their harmful effects.

Detoxification can be both natural and artificial. Natural detox is mostly performed by the kidneys and liver; both organs playing special roles in removing toxic compounds (mostly those rich in nitrogen) from the body. Artificial detox is mostly carried out by techniques such as dialysis and chelation therapy. Dialysis is needed in patients whose kidneys fail to perform their function. Dialysis follows the principle of diffusion and separates toxic compounds from the patient’s blood by difference in concentration of various substances present in the blood.

Chelation therapy is a process by which toxic heavy metals like lead, mercury, and arsenic are removed from the body by means of special chemical substances called chelating agents.
